The 4-Spots Small Business Marketing Program

The 4-spots small business marketing program is based on the diagram called The Marketing Circle of Life. This diagram illustrates that all your marketing is connected. You cannot perform one marketing action without it affecting the other spots in your marketing plan. The Marketing Circle of Life was developed by Jay Ehret, program facilitator and founder of “The Marketing Spot”.

Small business owners whose business is stuck in the status quo and want to not only level the playing field, but tilts the field to their advantage.

Why this program?
Because all your marketing is connected, your marketing plan must be constructed in a particular order. That order starts with the foundation of all your marketing activity: your brand. Once you have a brand you can map out and design a remarkable customer experience that delivers your brand promise.  Participating in the 4-spots small business marketing program you will be ready to promote in a way that reinforces the first three spots.

What will I learn?
Goal/Objective: To build a powerful brand that stands for something and has meaning. You will move toward the vision you have for your company. You will be empowered with confidence and knowledge to build your marketing plan.

How does it work and what is the commitment?
You will build your marketing plan and empower your business while working personally with me through this interactive program. Each week we will collaborate and discover through the coaching process your entrepreneurial soul to develop a marketing plan that is the spirit of your business.

The program commitment is 4-months. Within this time frame you will…

  • Work will complete week-by-week activities to create your marketing plan using the  4-Spot Marketing  Workbook.
  • Attend weekly coaching sessions (once per week) to collaborate on your plan.
  • Review additional worksheets, videos and articles.

And when it’s over?
You will have a  marketing plan uniquely constructed for you. Your marketing plan will include:

  • Your complete brand identity, including your brand promise, tagline, and brand direction.
  • Your customized customer experience map for your business, complete with magic spots to inspire loyalty and spark conversation.
  • Your  specific plan to spark conversation about your business through word-of-mouth initiatives, social media tools, and PR activity.
  • Your  complete advertising and/or promotional plan to build your brand and get new customers.

Finally, What are the 4-spots?
There are four essential spots in small business marketing. Master these spots and you build a marketing plan that changes your status quo:

Branding: Your brand is your meaning. It is the emotional and psychological relationship you have with your customers and potential customers. Powerful brands elicit thoughts, emotions, and sometimes physiological responses from customers.

Experience: The customer?s experience is the number one factor of customer loyalty. Not price, not service. The customer?s experience is also the launching point of word of mouth.

Conversation: Creating natural conversation about your business. Your customers become your brand evangelists and there is credible conversation about your business. The channels that spark credible conversation are word of mouth, online social media tools, and PR.

Promotion: The tactics businesses use to stimulate brand awareness and generate new customers. This has typically been accomplished by advertising through traditional media. But the world is changing and most small business advertising investment is wasted. Traditional media must be leveraged with new online media and non-traditional guerrilla marketing tactics. Advertising is not always the answer.
