But I need particular kinds of stories. I’m looking for inspirational small business marketing stories. It’s easy to find marketing done wrong, which makes success stories so divine.
So would you help me out? Use the form below to send me a story of small business marketing success. Please share a story from one of the four following categories:
- Branding – Share a story about a small business that has established brand leadership on a local level. (Here’s an example of one I shared a while back: Video: Achieving Brand Superiority in Your Town
- Customer Experience – A story about a small business that has created a remarkable customer experience that inspires loyalty. Like these examples: Lowe’s vs. Keith’s Hardware and What Starbucks Wishes It Could Be Again.
- Word of Mouth – Share a story about a small business that has become the talk of the town with viral word of mouth. For this business, advertising may not be necessary. Here’s a good example: Tatoo parlor thrives on word-of-mouth.
- Advertising – Share a story about a local small business that courts is customers with a unique advertising rather than pounding them over the head with loud sales ads. Here’s an…oops. I don’t have an example here. Are they that rare?
I would prefer stories about brick & mortar small businesses. However, if you know of a local small business that has used the internet to achieve marketing success, please let me know. If you are an entrepreneur, it could be your business. Don’t be shy. If you are a customer, it may be a local business that inspires you. Please share.
Use the contact form below. Please include some necessary details:
- Business name & location
- Website link, if there is one
- Your name and phone number/email address if the story is about your business
These stories will be used for upcoming blog posts and other materials I am developing. And if you also want to share the story with everyone, use the comment link below. Thanks!
Here’s a good word-of-mouth story I found over at Manizesto: How a booming hot dog stand does zero marketing.
